Empowering Wahine with Rangi Hetet

"I want to empower women to stand up, to be the change, to be the light for their families, that they don't have to do it alone, that there is a way out. That's what I want to do. That's why I boxed and thats why I do what I do now."

Rangi Hetet works quietly but powerfully in her Ngaruawahia community helping wahine become the change they want to be for themselves, their whānau and their hāpori. Rangi knows that community connection and physical exercise is a powerful way to raise the collective wellbeing for those who often struggle alone. By sharing vulnerably her own story of pain and struggle and how she overcame this, she inspires others to do the same.
